Fleet Connectivity now a priority for United
The future for fleet connectivity for United Airlines is positive.
Runway Girl Network correspondent Seth Miller interviews United Airlines’ Tarek Abdel-Halim at FTE 2014 in Las Vegas and LoadFactor cameras where there. Abdel-Halim comments on the airline’s future in-flight connectivity plans. The carrier plans to integrate WiFi networks with all airline systems effectively using aircraft as ‘nodes’ within a larger network supporting airline operations and the passenger in-flight experience.
In the world of in-flight connectivity for passengers United Airlines is something of a late bloomer. The carrier was slow in committing to a solution and they still trail Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Virgin America, US Airways and Southwest each of which has substantially completed its domestic fleet deployment.
