Azul’s Head of Loyalty Alex Malfitani on Innovation
Innovation and trial and error, Alex Malfitani, Head of Loyalty, Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras speaks with Seth Miller about the program’s development process
The Wandering Aramean Seth Miller caught up with the financial-minded head of TodoAzul Alex Malfitani to comment on innovation within the program. Alex was a member of the team that founded Azul in 2008 and before running the loyalty program was the airline’s treasurer and head of corporate finance.
Before Azul, Alex worked for five years at United Airlines in Chicago, where he occupied several positions in strategic planning, treasury and finance. His experience also includes five years in banking in positions such as fund manager at Deutsche Bank and proprietary trader at Credit Agricole Indosuez.
During the interview Seth asks Malfitani about the airline’s history of risk-taking and innovation in the unique Brazilian market.
